Dad said “when you hear about the pioneers-this is it. They left friends and family and things they loved; and they made America. But you can thank God for leather seats, paved roads and Hilton hotels.”
I would add iPhones and the radio. And while we may be too late to make America, there is still a story waiting to be told. As sad as it is to leave Tally, I’m getting excited to see how this story turns out.
In Dothan, Alabama Elliott asks “Are we in Canada yet?” That about sums up how I feel. Our first stop was Nashville, Tennessee. Tonight we get to see friends in Illinois (I need to get used to this hockey stuff). It seems a popular dessert up here is strawberries dipped in brown sugar and sour cream-NOT whipped cream. There is also a sad absence of sweet tea...my life blood. But there are little fuzzy animals, wolverines I think-apparently not as cute up close and also not related to the Hugh Jackman movie.
For some stupid reason we ate KFC two miles from the Kentucky state line, instead of simply stopping to eat in KY. Oh well, chicken is chicken.
Well I know this has been thrilling. Please join me again soon to catch the continuing drama as I attempt to chronicle the Wilson family move from Florida to Alaska. And as a side note (since somebody might be wondering about the title of this blog), we have not seen Bigfoot yet but we are hoping to catch up with him (it?) soon. So stay tuned!

Hey Elsa!
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this blog!
I was dreading not being able to hear or write to you for so long. =( This makes it much better. =D
BTW, look on the bright side of moving to Alaska - You'll be closer to me there then you would have been in FL. =P
God bless and keep you!
-Kyrstin
yeah me too! These sound like fun! especially for us writers : ) I just am really struggling with the faith that you will actually see bigfoot. Elsa, I know Alaska is a little bit isolated from the rest of the world. But its no excuse not to be a logical, rationally-minded person. Hence, I must educate you.
ReplyDeleteBig Foot does not exist.
What deranged premise led you to belief that you might snag a glimpse of him I am still trying to figure out. . . : )
With all the love in the world,
Peggy
ooh sorry should have specified. My first response was to Alyssa's comment lol
ReplyDeletePeggy, I expected you to be more open minded. I have believed in bigfoot all my life and I feel certain his pic will be up within a few weeks. Just wait.
ReplyDeleteOpen-minded but not simple-minded.
ReplyDeleteAhh the sad affects that youtube and other devices the media have created to mislead our society. I would have thought you to be above their influence as I am. But. No.
Elsa! I am thrilled to be able to keep up with your progress from my igloo here in Alaska. We cannot wait to see you all. Jami has a map out and asks every 5 min, "where do you think they are now?" Will you be arriving by seaplane or dog sled? We will be on the lookout for both. Be safe!(BigFoot lives just over the snow hill from me, but we call him Vern.) Keep writing!
ReplyDeleteLove, Aunt Suzi
wow Peggy I never realized how close minded you were. Big foot not existing? pssh. wake up honey! before you know it, Elsa won't be able to step outside because Alaska will be overrun, and then she'll have to come back here.
ReplyDelete:P
I'm shocked to find the lack of believers in Bigfoot. Ah well, that's what we get for free speech. Lol. I'm delighted to find that you have created an blog that is unmistakably you. :)I hope to be reading more about your adventures as you continue down your road. “Remember what Bilbo used to say: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
